Application guidelines
The deadline for applications to IECS’s Research grants and Junior scholar chairs is October 31. The deadline for applications to IECS’s Ph.D. Dissertation Fellowships is March 15. A list of grant recipients will be announced in early June of each year.

Peer Review Guidelines: All applications go through a three-stage review process, including internal screening, external review, and review committee meetings. Review committees make final decisions as to which grants are approved and at what level of funding. All decisions must be confirmed by the Board of Administrators.
Please provide your email and application below. After submitting your application, you will be given a link to send to your references where they will be able to upload their letters.
Your application, CV, and transcript should all be portable document files (PDFs) and there is a maximum file size of 2 Mb for each file.
Your application shall include the following items:
- cover letter (one page)
- Abstract of the dissertation proposal (max. 500 words)
- dissertation proposal (max. 7 pages, double space, font 11, Times New Roman)
- Resume (max. 3 pages)
- Proof of enrolment
- Two letters of reference, including one by the dissertation advisor(s) (to be sent directly as indicated above. The advisor(s) shall make explicit that the candidate is indeed ready to start writing the dissertation)
Your application shall include the following items:

- Proposed research project (max. 15 pages, double space, font 11, Times New Roman)
- Resume (max. 10 pages)

- Proposed research proposal (max. 7 pages, double space, font 11, Times New Roman)
- Resume (max. 4 pages)
- Two letters of reference, including one by the dissertation advisor(s) (to be sent directly as indicated above. The advisor(s) shall make explicit that the candidate is indeed ready to start writing the dissertation)
Please send the url provided after you submit this application to your referees and inform them of the March 15 deadline for all application materials. Letters sent after that deadline may be rejected by the website
